Eating disorders are an affliction that not only hurt the person afflicted but are a traumatic experience for their families as well www.eatingdisorders-helpingmoms.com is a website intended to be a support resource for mothers coping with daughters with eating disorders Melody of Hope- Surviving your Daughter's Eating Disorder is a book currently being written by Cathy Robinson of West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

The purpose of this website is to offer help and support to mothers everywhere coping with their daughters who are suffering with the debilitating effects of eating disorders.

Cathy Robinson, Registered Nurse, Nursing Instructor and Writer has also been there, just like you!

As a mother who has survived the incredible pain and anguish of watching her teenage daughter almost starve herself to death, Cathy is now writing a book of hope, a collection of personal experiences written by other mothers who have been through these same feelings of despair, then hope and finally healing, as she has.

Cathy asks all mothers everywhere who have been through this experience to send in their submissions in order to add them to her book, titled "A MELODY OF HOPE: Surviving your Daughter's Eating Disorder". The final result of the book will be to offer hope and support to other moms just beginning their journey...

Why You Should Write Your Story

·         give voice to your pain, anger and guilt rather than deny your feelings

·         discover your own strength and courage as you look back on your journey

·         obtain emotional healing and closure through writing your story

·         offer support to other mothers who are just beginning their difficult walk

·         become a published author

Why You Should Send In Your Story

This project will not only be a blessing to mothers who read this book, but also to mothers submitting their stories. While Cathy was writing the story of her daughter’s eating disorder from her perspective, she found emotional healing as it validated her own pain, anger and guilt. Although she cried buckets of tears and was emotionally drained when it was completed, she also came to appreciate her courage and determination as she helped her daughter fight this deadly disease. Writing her story gave voice to her fear, anger, stress, sadness, and ultimate peace and healing for her family.

Cathy thanks everyone who sends in their submission for their willingness to share and help other mothers.
