ABOUT THE BOOK
Anguish, guilt, anger, fear, and hopeless-describe some of what mothers feel as they suffer through their daughter’s eating disorder. Mothers carry the responsibility of providing the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of their children, but who cares for them? This is the first book of its kind to offer practical help, support and hope to mothers as it is written by mothers with first hand knowledge and experience.
This project is a labor of love as it was birthed from personal experience as Cathy Robinson watched her own daughter almost starve herself to death while suffering with an eating disorder.
Anorexia nervosa is a devastating disease having catastrophic affects on adolescent girls and their families. With over 10 million adolescent girls suffering with eating disorders and as many mothers in anguish and needing support, encouragement and hope, this book emphasizes the importance of the emotional, physical and spiritual healing of mothers who are an integral part of their daughter’s healing trajectory.
Cathy asked mothers everywhere who have been through this experience to send in their submissions to her and she included the majority of what she received into her book titled "A MELODY OF HOPE: Surviving your Daughter's Eating Disorder", named after her own daughter, Melody.
This book is intended to offer hope and support to other moms just beginning their journey... Click here to buy this book at any of several popular book stores in both Canada and the United States.
