Cathy Robinson is a full time nursing instructor at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.She lives in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and is the mother of four beautiful grown daughters, an amazing step daughter, and a new granddaughter. Cathy enjoys hiking, tennis, snowshoeing, reading, and spending time with family and good friends.
Biography: CATHY ROBINSON
Is a Registered Nurse with a Master’s Degree in Nursing and is currently completing a Doctoral Degree in Education.
Is a fulltime nursing instructor at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. One of her current research interests is related to women’s health issues with an emphasis on eating disorders.
Has just published the book "A Melody of Hope: Surviving Your Daughter's Eating Disorder".
Has published an article in the International Journal of Nursing Education Scholarship.
Has published a chapter in the textbook "Eating and Health Related Disorders". In J. W. Andrews and P. Istanffy (Ed) Exceptional Life Journeys: Stories of Childhood Disorders. Elsevier Insights.
Has been interviewed for Canadian Living Magazine on the topic of eating disorders and the importance of family communication.
Has also been an invited speaker at the Westwind Eating Disorder Recover Center in Manitoba, Canada to discuss the importance of mothers seeking support to assist in the recovery of their daughter’s eating disorder.
Is a pediatric nurse with extensive experience caring for adolescents with eating disorders.
Is the mother of a recovering anorexic daughter.
